Professional One on One Makeup Course

There are several packages for this course. Before we get into the different packages, here is what is included in each one:

  •  E- copy of pre-written notes/Manual will be provided
  •  Lunch and refreshments
  •  Models will be provided for all classes unless you choose to bring your own. 
  •  Certificate of completion
  •  Social media advertising 
  •  How to take pictures/videos

In these classes, you will learn how to apply makeup on clients. These include but are not limited to makeup for eyebrows, priming, foundation, concealing, false eyelashes, eyeshadow , eyeliner, contour, highlight, blush, lips, setting, shade matching, favourite products tools and brushes,  etc. 

You will need to bring all of your makeup, brushes and tools with you. We will try to work with the products that you have, and mine as well. You do not need to purchase everything in my kit, however, some products and tools are very necessary to purchase after the class to include in your kit. Links to some products are provided in your manual.  

All classes may be recorded on your phone. Please make sure it is fully charged when coming to class with plenty of space. 

There are Shadowing opportunities available in each package. The shadowing will be during real appointments within the GTA. Travel not accommodated unless you would like to join me from Hamilton to the location.

Makeup kits are not provided. It is an additional $250 for me to *create* a starter kit for you from scratch (price of materials not included). This will include tools, brushes, cases and starter makeup (foundation, eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners, glue, eyelashes, loose powder…etc). To start a beginner kit, you are looking at spending $500-$1000. Please pay attention to the materials I have in my kit, what my favourite products are, and what we used, so you have an idea of what to purchase for your kit. 

Here are the different packages: 

Package 1

   One class, Fast paced, one look: 

  • Who is this for: Ideal for Makeup Artists who are already working and would like to learn my techniques. This is also good for beginner artists who want to be makeup artists, and know they are highly skilled in art and/or makeup. A beginner Makeup artist ( one that has not already started to work as an MUA) with no artistic skills may find this class too fast, with too much information and may walk out wanting more. You can definitely purchase more classes afterwards, but it will be more expensive than buying the other packages listed below. This is because this class is not a course. Beginner makeup artists need to take a course for at least 2+ days in order to walk away, ready to take on clients for the first time. 
  • 1 day course, 7 hours. 
  • You get to accompany me 1 time as an assistant (this includes helping me) during an appointment to shadow me and see how I work with real clients. 
  • Class must be done in one day and cannot be split. 
  • Extra shadowing opportunities might be available throughout time if an assistant is needed for certain appointments.
  • In this class, you will choose one look to learn, not more. You will find that 7 hours is only enough time to complete one look in detail. From this one look, you will learn many of my special tips, techniques, products, and tools in my kit. 
  • One model provided. I will work on one half of the face, you will work on the other. We will alternate between sides so you may get accustomed to working on both sides. 
  • Extra eye looks are an additional $50 if time allows. If another eye look can be squeezed into the 7 hrs then we can do so, if not, then an additional eye look cannot be done. 
  • The focus will be on the one look you choose. Skin care and makeup assessment will be dependent on the skin of your model.  Any additional questions beyond our work on the model and the look we are tackling (example/questions about my favourite lipstick shades, how to choose different eyeshadow looks for clients, if the look is dewy-how do we create a matte look instead, what to do when client has redness ((if the model does not have that issue))…etc) can all be asked in the last 30 minutes – 1 hour of the class so we do not interrupt the process along with social media/photo taking/advertisement tips.

Package 2

2 classes, fast paced, two looks, course structured :

  • This class is ideal for anyone mentioned in option 1, but would like to learn more looks, and have MORE practice. One week should be placed in between these two classes to give the student time to practice the look in the first class on someone else and address any difficulties they faced, in the second class. You will walk away feeling a lot more confident and ready. This class is also more ideal than option 1 for Beginners who want to pursue makeup artistry. However, depending on the level of artistic skill the beginner MUA has, they might not have the absolute courage yet to start their business.  

  • class 1 is 7 hrs , class 2 is 6 hrs  

  • Maximum of one look in each class. 

  • 2 Shadowing opportunities are available.

  • In class 1, we will both work on one side each. In class 2, you will have the opportunity to try and apply the makeup a little more on your own with my supervision. 

  • The focus will be on the one look you choose. Skin care and makeup assessment will be dependent on the skin of your model.  Any additional questions beyond the look and skin of the model (example/questions about my favorite lipstick shades, how to choose different eyeshadow looks for clients, if the look is dewy-how do we create a matte look instead, what to do when client has redness ((if the model does not have that issue)) …etc) can all be asked in the last 30 minutes – 1hr of the class so we do not interrupt the process along with social media/photo taking/advertisement tips.

Package 3

 3 or 4 classes, slower paced, 3+ looks , course structured

  • This course is great for everyone, but the best for beginners. This will allow the student to walk out of class 3 or 4 feeling extremely confident to start taking clients right away, on their own. I have seen it before! Feel free to ask me for examples of student IG pages that I have worked with before. 
  • Shadowing 3 times for 3 classes and 4 times for 4 classes. 
  • one look in each class
  • class one 7 hrs, class 2 – 6, class 3 and 4 is 5 hrs each. 
  • you will have exclusive access to my kit, and we can go through it entirely. In other class packages, you will not get this advantage. The only makeup shown to you will be that which we are using for the looks. 
  • In class 3 you will apply the makeup all on your own with my supervision/assistance only if needed. 
  • Class 4 (In my opinion,  is extremely important to have), is the “test”. For this class, you will have no help. Your performance will be marked and your mistakes will be given to you at the very end. This is the ultimate learning opportunity. We also get to see exactly what you’re capable of!
  • You will leave with full knowledge on how to start your kit and you will be able to start taking clients right away. 
  • In these classes you will learn extensively about different face shapes, skin types, how to choose eyeshadow combinations, different foundation methods and shade matching, how to cater to different eye shapes etc.
